Getting Married at St Luke's
At St Luke's we strongly believe that marriage should be a life-long commitment between a man and a woman. Prior to marriage, we expect couples to complete a marriage preparation course designed to help equip you for married life.
We also recognise that sadly, marriages sometimes end in divorce. The bible teaches that although God hates divorce, and intends that marriage should be permanent, God also permits a person to divorce their spouse in certain circumstances (sexual immorality and desertion). So divorce is NOT the unforgivable sin, and remarriage after divorce in these circumstances is possible! If you are a divorcee considering re-marriage, the clergy cannot guarantee that we will agree to conduct your marriage at St. Luke's, but we will gladly explore the possibility with you.
We would also be very willing to give pastoral direction and support to anyone going through a difficult time in their marriage.
Please contact Richard Espin-Bradley for enquiries about getting married and marriage preparation, or if there are any other ways we can help you.
